Meeting Called to Order

Meeting Called to Order at 7:34PM after Pledge of Allegiance.

New Business

  • Valley View Drive Cat Issue - Attorney Peter Loftus, Doree Rosencrans and Vera Hughes were present. Attorney Loftus explained that 36 cats have been captured and the nuisance is in abeyance. The remaining cats, if any, will be removed. Ms. Rosencrans states she is still feeding stray cats. Loftus will instruct clients to no longer feed the cats. Mrs. Hughes still has to clean up her yard – even just two days ago – she is tired of having to deal with this. This situation has been going on for seven years. Mrs. Hughes started court proceedings in Oct. ’07. Loftus proposes all food be removed except for inside the traps and they try for the next 30 days to trap any remaining cats. Pardue and Martenson agree to allow time to stop the feeding of the cats immediately and only put food in the traps. Koldjeski disagrees and stays with his decision that May 5 was the deadline. Koldjeski does not believe the Township got a sincere effort to trap the cats. Supervisors states that if someone goes by and there are bowls outside and not in the traps all deals are off and the Township will act in removing the cats.
  • Convention - Motion by Martenson to allow $50 per day for food and .505 per mile with the hotel expenses on the credit card for Rick Thompson to attend the PSATS convention, 2nd by Koldjeski. Motion voted, all in favor.
  • Rec Center Work Order - The Rec Committee submitted a work order for refinishing the hallway hardwood floors. After some discussion, the Supervisors will not sign the work order unless the building is completely unoccupied due to the odors that will be present from the work.
  • BIU - Bill was signed and discussed for Building Inspection Underwriters for April services.
  • AEP - Two proposals were submitted for AEP oil for the dirt roads. Vestal Asphalt proposed $1.06 per gallon and Suit Kote for $1.09 per gallon; both proposals are on the state piggyback program through COSTARS. Motion by Martenson to accept the proposal from Vestal Asphalt at $1.06 per gallon, 2nd by Koldjeski. Motion voted, all in favor.
