New Business
- Abington Rotary Club Fireworks - Harry Mumford, representing the Rotary, stated that the fireworks this year will be July 3, 2008 with a rain date of July 5, 2008.
Nothing has changed with their plans; it will be the same as all years. Security will be planned with Chief Reese. Haan reminded Mr. Mumford that he will need to request from the
Supervisors that they waive the mass gathering permit fee. As in past years, a current certificate of insurance naming Newton Township and the fire training grounds will need to be
received before the event. Mr. Mumford will be present at the April General Meeting of the Township Supervisors.
Unfinished Business
- Buranich Subdivision - John Seamans presented the Commission with revised plans containing the adjoining property owner’s names. LCRPC recommended approval of the plans.
Motion by Sartori to recommend approval to the Supervisors, 2nd by Parsells. Motion voted, all in favor.
- Swartz Subdivision - A letter granting extension of review time was received from the landowner giving the Township an extra ninety (90) days from 1/30/08. LCRPC reviewed the
plans with the recommendation that the driveways be shown on the plans and that at present time there is no proposed disturbance to wetlands on the site, however, any future development must be
viewed in relation to the wetlands that may require a state and/or federal permit. A call to the landowner on 2/20/08 was given to the landowner that the plans needed to be redone depicting the
driveways – no response.
- Deer Valley Estates - Sketch plans and letter were received requesting a waiver from the Township Ordinance Article VI, 603.6 Dead End Streets. A provision for the minimum
modification is necessary as an alternate to the requirements. Motion by Parsells to recommend that the Supervisors consider granting the waiver of the Dean End Street Ordinance from 600 feet to
1250 feet as requested by the developer, 2nd by Raino. Motion voted, all in favor.
