New Business

  • Jeff Kyle – DGK Insurance - Mr. Kyle went over the workers compensation insurance. Miller needs to ask for certificate of insurance from South Abington Police of police professional naming Newton Township.
  • Beaver Pond Road - Due to the storm, Beaver Pond Road washed out and the garbage trucks will not go through. Martenson stated to have the road crew make the road passable for emergency vehicles and garbage trucks but keep the road closed signs up until it is fixed permanently.
  • Health Insurance - Miller asked the Supervisors to consider getting dental insurance. The health insurance rates went down this year. Pardue wants rates and what we receive with the dental insurance for the cost.
  • Pension - Pardue signed the paper for Trollinger to add Chris Summerhill to the plan. Pardue had a meeting with Trollinger Consulting along with Bob Reese and Rick Thompson regarding the DROP program. Ron Bittner, Trollinger, will put some figures together and get back to the Township. The program would allow someone that is eligible to retire to state they are retiring but continue to work for up to two years and when they stop working, they would receive a lump sum of what they would have received from the pension in that two years.
  • Carpet & Floor Cleaning - Quote was received from Klein’s All Clean Services to clean the meeting room carpets and runners and strip and wax the other floors for $530.00. Supervisors agreed to have the work done.

Unfinished Business

  • Kochmer Litigation - Supervisors asked Miller to get in touch with Kochmer and tell him that the surveyors were out to the area to work on what had been discussed.
  • 2005 Road Construction - BOTHAR has come and finished the project from last year.
  • CEO Report - Haan gave his report on what he has been called about within the Township. He stated that he has visited Waltz concerning the pool fence and noticed that there are stakes in the ground for the fence and is giving him a chance to get the work finished. He will revisit the situation soon. Haan also reported that the Planning Commission could not hold a meeting last month due to there not being a quorum. Stemphoski asked that the Supervisors consider making a resolution to allow the Secretary to serve as a member in the case there is no quorum to make it a quorum. Mr. Foley, Our Lady of the Snows/St. Benedict’s, came to go through the mass gathering permit. Since there will not be time for review from the Planning Commission, Haan directed him to the Supervisors meeting on Monday. July 10, 2006.
Bills were signed and discussed. PO’s were signed.

Being no further discussion, meeting adjourned.

Meeting adjourned 9:02PM

Respectfully submitted, Francine Miller
